A 3D racing car simulation for the Casio CFX 9850G with 16 original Formula 1 tracks!
Unbelievable, but true: a real 3D game for the Casio CFX 9850G with a 360° free movement angle and a high, for this calculator amazing performance of
0.87 frames per second!!!
The player chooses between 16 original Formula 1 tracks, where he can compete versus 21 original Formula 1 drivers, and this at bombing graphics! Special highlight: the background moves with you!
Starting the game, you can choose between "Grand Prix Season" ["Neue Saison"] and "Single race" ["Einzelrennen"] (however, because of the little memory of the Casio CFX 9850G, I was unable to implement the Season mode anymore, so only the Single Race is playable).
The choose is between the 16 original tracks of the Grand Prix Season ´99: Australia, Brasilia, Argentinina, San Marino, Spain, Monaco, Canada, France, England, Austria, Germany, Hungria, Belgium, Italy, Luxemburg and Japan with each 2 to 8 rounds to drive.
While driving, on the upper right corner of the screen a map of the track with your position is shown, as well as on the lower border of the screen your placing, speed and round number.
You start the race as M. Schumacher from position 10 in each case. Accelerating and braking is done with the cursor keys (up, down), and to hold current speed you do not need to press any key (that means, if you reached maximum speed already, you needn´t to press the cursor up key anymore). You steer the car by the cursor left - and right keys, and steering is possible only, if the car is driving (e.g., speed is not zero). [Exit] is the break - key.
In curves you have - like in real Formula 1 - to take a look on the radial forces, furthermore you shallt try to stay on the street (because on the grass you get decelerated). But take a care on passing your opponents, because in case of collision you take the las place (tip: if dodging isn´t possible anymore, you have to decelerate in instead of!).
The game takes 22518 bytes for code and data, besides 6KB operation memory. Thus, 28KB at all, what is nearly all the memory available on the Casio CFX 9850G (ca. 30KB max.). So Formula 1 is biggest and most complex game I ever wrote for this calculator, but also one of the best Casio CFX 9850G games at all, too.
